The German based automaker Volkswagen is planning to introduce two new versions of the Tiguan, a Hybrid and a BlueMotion, once the new generation will hit the market.
The upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan is expected to be launched at the end of 2014, and this means that it will wear the 2014 model year in its name. The popular SUV might be offered with a three-door coupe body style, along with the “classic” five-door crossover version, and a choice of either a short or a long wheelbase will probably have to be made too, by its future customers.
But the most important part of the model will be found under its hood, where the new-gen Tiguan is expected to gain a hybrid version, along with a BlueMotion one, but it remains unknown what engines will be used for these too. As for the rest of the lineup, petrol engines, ranging between 1.4 and 1.8 liters, with outputs from 140 to 220 HP, will become available, and diesel lovers will be able to order units between 1.6 and a 2.0 liter TDI, with outputs 110-204 GP. Additional details on the next generation of the Volkswagen Tiguan remain unknown for the moment but the model might be inspired by the Cross Coupe Concept.
