Volkswagen to battle the Nissan Juke with Polo-based crossover image

The German based automaker Volkswagen will develop a rival for the Nissan Juke and other models in the segment which will be based on the next generation of the Polo hatchback.

Nissan has opened a path with B-segment crossovers a few years ago with the Juke and since then the model has been followed by its first competitors like the MINI Countryman, the Ford EcoSport, the Opel / Vauxhall Mokka or the Peugeot 2008. Renault is also planning a crossover based on the Clio, Audi will produce the Q2 and now Volkswagen is getting ready for the Polo-based crossover.

Rumor has it that the all-new VW Polo generation will get a crossover which will battle the models mentioned above. The new model in Volkswagen’s lineup will be produced on the MQB modular platform, the same one used on the new Audi A3 and on the Golf 7, and it seems that the final production version of the vehicle will be inspired by the Cross Coupe concept unveiled in Tokyo last year. 2WD and 4WD will be offered on the new Polo SUV but that’s all the info we’ve got on the model for the moment.
