Volkswagen to produce 2,500 units of the Polo R WRC

The German based automaker Volkswagen has recently announced its plans to produce 2,500 units of the Polo R WRC.

If you’ve seen the new hot hatch which will enter VW’s lineup soon and you’re into it than you should hurry up to your local car dealer because the company is planning to produce just 2,500 units of the model. According to the car manufacturer, the Volkswagen Polo R WRC is already available for order, starting this month, but deliveries will begin in September, 2013. Prices for the brand new Volkswagen Polo R WRC will begin at 33,900 euros and this will be the fastest ever production version of the model.

The VW Polo R WRC has been previewed by the Polo WRC Street Concept earlier this year and the model is powered by the same engine found on the Golf GTI, the 2.0 liter TSI four-cylinder turbocharged unit, which is producing a total output of 217 BHP, with a peak torque of 258 lb-ft, available between 2,500 and 4,400 rpm. The model has a total weight of 1,324 kg, a figure which includes a 90 percent full fuel tank, the driver’s weight of 68 kg and 7 kg luggage. The 0 to 62 mph acceleration takes 6.4 seconds and top speed stands at 151 mph.
