Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid was launched in Malaysia image

Volkswagen Malaysia has announced the introduction of the Touareg Hybrid locally, which is joining the 3.6 V6 FSI version already available in the country.

According to the German based automaker, the Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid is coming with features like the Vienna leather seats, the e-Mode button, the Hybrid Powertrain Monitoring System, the air suspension, the start/stop system, the regenerative braking system or the 19-inch Salamanca alloy wheels wrapped in 265/50 tires. Besides these, a 60HB hard disk is also available, along with the RNS850 radio/navigation system, a 10-speaker 600W Dynaudio Confidence sound system or a panoramic tilt / slide sunroof.

Under the hood, the Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid is getting the 3.0 liter V6 supercharged petrol engine, which is providing 333 PS and 440 Nm of torque, along with a 46 HP electric motor and a 1.73 kWh Ni-Mh battery pack. The powertrain is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and the total output provided is 380 PS and 580 Nm. The Touareg Hybrid can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 240 km/h. Fuel consumption in standard stands at 8.2L / 100km. Prices for the “green” Touareg in Malaysia start at RM616,888.
