A series of updates for the 2016 model year Volkswagen Touareg in the United States have been announced by the car manufacturer recently.
According to the German based company, the 2016 Volkswagen Touareg has been updated. Prices have been dropped by 2, 000 USD and the most significant change is the dropping of the Touareg Hybrid from the lineup. The carmaker didn’t announce why the model has been discontinued but chances are that the decision has been taken after poor sales. This version was equipped with a 3.0 liter supercharged V6 engine, backed up by an electric motor and a small nickel metal battery pack, producing a total of 380 HP and 428 lb-ft of torque.
“Hybrid model discontinued”, was the only thing written in the press release on the subject.
The 2016 Volkswagen Touareg is mostly carried over but the 14-way power adjustable ventilated front seats have been added to the Lux and the Executive versions, along with the 21-inch alloy wheels, which are available as options. The improved Driver Assistance Package with the Park Distance Control has been added to the Sport and Tech versions, while the Executive is now coming with a lot of assistance systems, which include the Lane Departure Warning, the Autonomous Emergency Braking, the Adaptive Cruise Control, the Forward Collision warning and so on.
