Volkswagen has recently announced its plans to introduce the Touareg X in the United States, where the model will be priced from 56,170 USD.
According to the car manufacturer, the new Volkswagen Touareg X has been designed in order to celebrate the vehicle’s 10th anniversary and it’s actually based on the Touareg TDI Clean Diesel Lux. The Volkswagen Touareg X is getting a Moonlight Blue Pearl exterior, a set of 19-inch Moab-style alloy wheels, the Vienna leather seats in the cabin, the ebony wood trim, the black headliner, piano black accents, faux aluminum covers, illuminated sill plates and much more.
Volkswagen says that the new Touareg X is also getting standard features such as the GPS navigation system, the dual zone climate control, the heated front seats or the panoramic sunroof. As far as the engine goes, just like we said above, the VW Touareg X is based on the Touareg TDI Clean Diesel Lux and this means that power is being provided by a 3.0 liter V6 turbo diesel, producing a total output of 240 HP (179 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. The unit is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, sending power to the 4MOTION AWD system. Prices for the Touareg X will start at 56,170 USD and 1,000 units will become available in the U.S.
