Volkswagen has recently announced the introduction of the Transporter BlueMotion in the United Kingdom, where the model can be bought from 18,770 GBP, without VAT.
According to the German based automaker, the Volkswagen Transporter BlueMotion has been designed to appeal to fuel conscious fleets and the model is powered by a 2.0 liter TDI diesel engine, which is producing a total output of 114 HP (84 kW), which allows the model to average 44.8 mpg UK (37.3 mpg US) and emit just 166 g/km of CO2. VW says that these figures have been improved by 7.1 mpg UK (5.9 mpg US) and by 32 g/km of CO2 compared to the regular version of the TDI.
Besides the Volkswagen Transporter BlueMotion, the Transporter BlueMotion Technology is also available, which is adding features like the brake energy regeneration, the low rolling resistance tires and the engine stop/start system. Its 2.0 liter TDI diesel engine is producing 84 HP (62 kW) or 114 HP (84 kW) and both of them can average 40.4 mpg UK (33.6 mpg US) while emitting 184 g/km of CO2. The Volkswagen Transporter BlueMotion can be bought from 18,770 GBP and the Transporter BlueMotion Technology from 17,290 GBP, VAT excluded.
