The new Volkswagen Sportsvan Concept has been officially unveiled by the German based automaker, ahead of its public debut scheduled for the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, on September 10.
Volkswagen’s newest creation is named the Sportsvan Concept and this is offering a first preview on the final production version of the new Golf Plus. The model in question has been already caught testing, in its production variant, but it seems that VW will have some work to do until it will hit dealerships. The new Volkswagen Golf Sportsvan is 134 mm longer than the previous generation of the Golf Plus and 83 mm longer than the five-door Golf 7. The wheelbase has been extended by 48 mm and the model is also 8 mm wider and 126 mm taller than the new Golf 7.
The cargo capacity in the VW Golf Sportsvan Concept stands at 498 liters. As for the engine lineup, the new Golf Sportsvan Concept has been developed to work with an array of six engines, with outputs ranging from 85 HP (63 kW) to 150 HP (110 kW), with the most fuel efficient version being the 110 HP (81 kW) 1.6 TDI BlueMotion. Safety and Assistance systems found on the model include the Adaptive Cruise Control, the lane keeping assistant, city emergency braking, rear traffic alert, blind spot monitor and more.
