The German based automaker Volkswagen is once again entering the spotlights after a series of images with the five-door version of the Up! model have ended up on the internet.
The fact that Volkswagen was planning to introduce a five-door version of the Up! model in the nearby future wasn’t a surprise and we’ve talked about it in the past too, but what comes as a surprise is actually the first set of images that ended up on the internet. The Volkswagen Up! in its five-door version is expected to be named the 5D and it’s actually pretty similar to the Cross Up! concept revealed at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. We don’t exactly know how the guys at autoforum.cz have got these images but we must thank them for that.
Rumors say that the Volkswagen Up! 5D will be powered by the 1.0 liter engine which is developing a total output of 75 horsepower, and a BlueMotion version might also be on the way. Sadly there aren’t any official details on this new Volkswagen model but the company might pull a surprise on all of us and actually reveal it to the public at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, or even later this year, during another international automotive event.
