The German based automaker Volkswagen is planning to launch its smallest model, the Up!, in India, along with the new Beetle and the new Touareg.
The fact that the car manufacturer is planning to introduce the smallest model in its lineup, the Volkswagen Up! in India is no longer a surprise for us, after we’ve talked about it in November 2011, but the fact that this rumor is starting to catch up and even more sources are confirming it made us look into our archives for extra details. A first step into launching the Up! in India might be taken by Volkswagen at the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo, where the small urban vehicle is expected.
If it finally hits India in the nearby future, as rumors are saying, the Volkswagen Up! is expected to compete on the local auto market with the Chevrolet Beat, the Honda Brio, the Maruti Ritz, the Toyota Etios Liva and the Nissan Micra. Besides the Up!, the new Beetle and the new Touareg are also expected to debut in India, where the first one will be coming with panoramic sunroof, LED daytime running lights, bi-xenon headlamps, sat-nav, keyless access and many more things, while the SUV will will be powered by a 3 liter diesel engine, 240 HP, and it will come with a lot of features for Rs 60 lakh.
