Fu Qiang, former Beijing Benz Executive Vice President, has joined Volvo as the first marketing director of its Chinese division.

Mr Fu began his career in the auto industry when he was 23 years old, and since then he has worked for Beijing Benz, Shanghai VW and FAW-VW, helping with the management of the Audi and Skoda brands. Volvo officials declared that they are confident that Mr. Fu will help the company boost its market performance and management standards.

“We welcome the addition of a figure with a highly regarded reputation like Fu Qiang’s to Volvo Cars,” Senior Vice President Shen Hui stated. “We believe that through his and [our] other colleagues’ efforts, Volvo’s sales performance, marketing management and brand [image] in China will [all] improve,” he said.

He also added that China is of utmost importance for Volvo’s global sales strategy and that the country is Volvo’s second largest market.
