The Swedish based automaker Volvo has recently announced its arrival at the 2013 New York Auto Show, where the company’s U.S. lineup will be announced, along with a mystery model.
Volvo may try to keep is upcoming U.S. lineup a secret for the moment but that doesn’t mean that we don’t have a clue on what it might be and not too long ago a report indicated that the V60 Plug-in Hybrid will be officially presented to the public during the 2013 New York Auto Show. The model is also a finalist for the 2013 World Green Car of the Year, and it’s probably waiting to become a best-seller over-seas.
The Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid is powered by a 215 HP (158 kW) and 440 Nm of torque (324 lb-ft) 2.4 liter five-cylinder diesel engine, along with an electric motor, generating 70 HP (51 kW) and 640 Nm of torque (472 lb-ft) and a 12 kWh lithium-ion battery. The model can sprint form 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and the average fuel consumption stands at a whopping 123.8 mpg (US) or 1.9 L / 100 km. Additional details on Volvo’s U.S. lineup, or on the mystery model, will be announced in New York, on the 27th of March.
