Volvo Names Former Opel Top Executive as Its Vice President Sales Operations image

Volvo recently named Alain Visser as its new Vice President Sales Operations within Marketing, Sales and Customer Service.

Alain Visser, 49, was previously Vice President Sales, Marketing and After sales for Opel and Vauxhall, and he has also held different leadership positions in Marketing and Sales for GM and Ford of Europe.

“I really look forward to join Volvo Car Corporation. The company is in a challenging stage of transformation and expansion and has an exciting strategy ahead,” says Alain Visser.

Alain was born in Belgium and has an MBA from the University of Antwerp, Belgium and one from Duke University, North Carolina, USA. In 1987 he began his career at Ford of Belgium and in 2004 he joined GM. In his new position at Volvo, beginning September 3rd, Alain Visser will manage the automaker’s global sales operational business and he will report to Senior Vice President Marketing, Sales and Customer Service Doug Speck. He will also become a member of the MS&CS management team.
