Volvo S60 Polestar spied in Germany image

The upcoming Volvo S60 Polestar, which will rival the BMW M3 and other vehicles in the segment, has been recently caught by cameras in Germany, while it was being tested.

After rumors have appeared saying that the Swedish based automaker Volvo is currently working on a high performance version of the S60 in order to rival with the BMW M3, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG or the Audi RS4, the model is once again being placed into the spotlights thanks to some spy photos, provided by a Dutch magazine which we don’t have a clue on how to pronounce it, but the link can be found here.

The Volvo S60 Polestar is expected to get a highly modified V6 engine or even a V8 unit, which will be adopted from the larger brothers, the XC90 and the S80, with the latter offering 315 horsepower in naturally aspirated form. Noble has proven that the sane engine can develop 650 horsepower in the M600 supercar, so at least we know that it has a lot of potential. The unit which will eventually find its way under the hood of the Volvo S60 Polestar will be mated to a sequential transmission which will send the approximately 400 horsepower to a Haldex four-wheel drive system.
