Volvo S60 Polestar to rival BMW M3 image

The Swedish based automaker Volvo and Polestar are currently working on a high performance version of the current S60 model which will go against the BMW M3.

After Volvo has announced a year ago that the collaboration with Polestar will be extended, the two brands are currently working on a high performance version of the S60 model which will rival the German BMW M3. Even if there is no official word on the Volvo S60 Polestar just yet from either brand, rumors are saying that the vehicle will be powered by a 400 horsepower V8 engine in order to go against the BMW M3, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and the Audi RS4.

The upcoming Volvo S60 Polestar might also get a highly modified V6 petrol engine or a V8 unit, adopted from the XC90 and S80, with the latter offering 315 horsepower in naturally aspirated form, but Noble has proven that the same unit can put down 650 horsepower in the M600 supercar. The engine which will power the Volvo S60 Polestar will be mated to a sequential transmission which will send its power to a Haldex four-wheel drive system. More details about the Volvo S60 Polestar will be announced by the manufacturer soon.
