Volvo has recently announced the official launch of the brand new S60 Polestar in Australia, where the model is now available to its future customers from 109,950 USD.
The new Volvo S60 Polestar has been developed by Volvo in collaboration with Polestar and the result is one of the hottest vehicles in its class. The model is matching the 0 to 100 km/h sprint of the Lexus IS F and it manages to beat the one of the Audi S4 by one-tenth. The S60 Polestar is 0.1 seconds slower than the BMW M3 and 0.4 seconds slower than the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG in terms of 0 to 100 km/h acceleration.
But where the Volvo S60 Polestar is “losing”, it’s compensating by being 10 to 30 AUD cheaper than its direct competitors, and this will eventually play a major role in people choosing it. But if you’re living in Australia and you’re looking for a brand new fast sedan, besides the 109,950 AUD, which you will have to pay for the S60 Polestar, you should also consider yourself lucky if you get your hands on one, because only 50 units will become available.
As a quick reminder, the Volvo S60 Polestar is powered by a 2,953 cc inline six-cylinder engine, which is good for 350 HP (257 kW) and 500+ Nm of torque (369+ lb-ft), sent to the Haldex all-wheel drive system through the six-speed automatic transmission. The model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). The 1,684 kg (3,712 lbs) high-performance sedan is stopped by Brembo ventilated discs, 336×29 mm and 302.22 mm front to rear.
