Volvo S60 T4 and T5 made in Malaysia image

Volvo will be manufacturing its T4 and T5 S60 models in Malaysia so for those of you who have been dreaming of the car but prices seemed just a little too much we have some good news, the car made locally will be cheaper.

The Malaysian Volvo S60 T4 will be powered by a 1.6 liter, 4-cylinder inline, turbocharged, direct injection engine which will deliver 180 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque, connected to a six-speed powershift gearbox. The T4 will only consume 7 liters of fuel for every 100 km on a combined cycle and its estimated selling price is 220.000 RM (about 52.000 euros).

For just over 1.000 euros more you can get the T5 S60, which is powered by a 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder, supercharged direct injection engine, producing 240 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque and connected to the same six-speed Powershift gearbox. The T5 is being offered with the Pedestrian Detection system which can automatically stop the car if the driver doesn’t respond in time.

According to the manufacturer, the first 60 customers in Malaysia who will book the T4 or T5 will receive a special surprise which will make the S60 look more stunning, as the Volvo Car Malaysia president Goran Larsson said, so a bodykit might just be that surprise.
