Volvo has teamed up with Polestar once again in order to introduce the S60, the V60 and the XC60 Blakc R Editions, which have been created to celebrate Scandinavian Touring Car Championship victory.
The Swedish based automaker and Polestar have given birth to three new models, the S60, the V60 and the XC60 Black R Editions, which have been made in order to celebrate Volvo’s victory in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. The three models mentioned above have received a matte black grille, a sport-tuned suspension system, Ixion wheels, a premium audio system, leather sports seats, alloy pedals and Sensus Connect infotainment system, amongst others.
“The cooperation with Polestar provides us with an amazing opportunity to spice our existing models. We are launching Black R to celebrate our double victory in STCC”, said the Volvo Sweden Cars Director of Sales, Kristian Elvefors.
“An exciting and successful year for Polestar has almost come to an end and we are really happy to celebrate it with Black R together with Volvo Sweden”, added the Polestar Performance Managing Director, Hans Baath.
The three models in question are available with a choice of two engines, which have been tuned by Polestar. The first one is the T6, which is producing a total output of 329 HP (242 kW) and it has a peak torque of 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque, enough to allow the S60 to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.7 seconds and to reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). There is also a D5 diesel, with 230 HP (169 kW) and 470 Nm (346 lb-ft) of torque. When equipped with this engine, the S60 will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds before reaching a top speed of 230 km/h (143 mph).
