Volvo V40 Polestar to get XC90’s engine image

The Swedish based automaker Volvo is planning to introduce the same engine from the XC90’s new generation to the V40 Polestar.

The Volvo V40 Polestar might produce a big surprise once it will be hitting the market as the model in question is believed to gain the same engine as the new generation of the XC90 SUV. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet but according to the guys from Auto Express, the new Volvo V40 Polestar will be coming with the Ohlins shock absorbers, with beefier anti roll bars, with stiffer springs and with high performance Brembo braking system.

The Volvo V40 Polestar will have the most impressive part under its hood. We are talking about the 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine, which is also being used on the 2015 XC90. The unit in question is believed to produce approximately 315 HP (234 kW) on the V40 Polestar and this should be enough to allow it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than 6 seconds and to reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). More details on the V40 Polestar equipped with the XC90’s engine are limited for the moment.
