Volvo V60 plug-in hybrid announced image

Volvo will bring the V60 plug-in hybrid to the Geneva auto show and promises to deliver the vehicle to the market next year.

Volvo said the Geneva model will be a “virtually production-ready” car with CO2 emissions of 49 grams per kilometer, which translates into fuel consumption of 124 mpg.

The Plug-in hybrid that will run up to 50 km on pure electric power, will be powered by a 2.4-liter five-cylinder diesel engine, (215 horsepower and 324 pounds-feet of torque to the front wheels) and a 70 hp electric unit that will power the rear wheels. A six-speed automatic transmission will also be used.
