VUHL presents Mexican exotics at Goodwood with 05RR image

The Mexican boutique builder has decided to entice British fans over the weekend during the Goodwood Festival of Speed with the 05RR – a track playmate that can also eb driven home legally.

While the VUHL name might not sound too well known, we can tell you the o5RR’s credentials are pretty impressive as they include a very good power-to-weight ratio of 600 hp per ton. After it was teased earlier this month, VUHL is officially introducing the track-oriented model which actually also comes with full road-legal status as well. We can tell you the 05RR is indeed an evolution of the regular 05 and this hardcore version has more power and an even lower weight. The stock version delivers 285 horsepower (212 kilowatts) thanks to an EcoBoost 2.3-liter engine, but the new 05RR has been massaged to a very promising 385 hp (287 kW), sent to the wheels via a six-speed sequential transmission.

Additionally, the 05RR also went to the gym and had a diet that enabled a more than ten percent weight loss, now tipping the scales at just 1,410 pounds (640 kilograms, dry). Thanks to all the enhancements, the VUHL 05RR will blaze to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds – 0.8 seconds quicker than its 05 counterpart. Maximum speed has also gone up from the initial 150 mph (241 kph) to 160 mph (257 kph). While it looks ready to play all day on the track, the VUHL 05RR is road-legal, meaning you can also enjoy it on the drive home.
