VW and Ford make donations to help those affected by the tornadoes which hit Oklahoma this week.
Volkswagen of America Foundation is making a donation of $250,000 to Habitat for Humanity and the American Red Cross to help those affected by the devastating tornadoes which hit Oklahoma. The money will be used to offer shelter, recovery and food to families affected by the storm.
“It is our hope that this donation will provide some relief to those affected and help them rebuild their communities and their lives,” said Jonathan Browning, President and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America.
Ford is also making a donation of $400,000 and a Ford Transit Connect van to the American Red Cross which will be used for emergency and relief services. The Oklahoma Ford Dealers will made a donation of $150,000 to the United Way, and Ford will also provide $500 in new vehicle purchase for residents in affected areas, who had their vehicles damaged by the tornadoes.
“The impact of these tornadoes is devastating on thousands of families,” said Jim Vella, president, Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services. “We know there is great need for assistance, and Ford, its dealers and employees are coming together to provide needed resources.
