The Volkswagen Beetle 1.8T has recently arrived in the United States where the model in question has been priced from 20,925 USD, without the 820 USD destination charge.
Volkswagen has announced the official price list for the Beetle TSI over-seas, where the cheapest version of the model can now be yours from 20,925 USD. The vehicle in question is taking its power from a 1.8 liter TSI four-cylinder engine, which is already available in the Jetta and the Passat, serving as a replacement for the 2.5 liter 5-cylinder unit. The total output produced by the engine stands at 170 HP (127 kW) and the peak torque at 249 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque, available at 2,750 rpm.
Besides being faster, the VW Beetle 1.8T is also more economical and it will achieve 33 mpg on the highway, when equipped with the 6-speed automatic transmission, compared to the previous version which did 29 mpg. For the 5-speed manual gearbox version, the model in question will return 24 / 33 / 27 mpg in city / highway / combined. Prices for the manual option start at 20,295 USD, for the automatic at 21,395 USD and for the convertible, which is offered with an automatic gearbox only, at 25,170 USD.
