With low fuel consumption in their minds and hating CO2 emissions, the German designers at Volkswagen have developed a single-seat Electric Vehicle Concept which was designed for limited journeys, if we should listen to the research chief Juergen Leohold.
“It’s a new kind of mobility – a new vehicle concept. Also, it’s physics. If you limit a car to one person, you can make it smaller, less weight, you need less energy to transport the person and the obviously it can be better on CO2 and fuel efficiency”, said the VW official for the Financial Times.
The new EV concept is expected to be better than the XL1 Super Efficient Vehicle that managed to burn only 0.9 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers, and the CO2 emissions of VW’s new “toy” will “depend on what kind of electricity you put in the battery”, as Leohold also said.
Volkswagen will present its new Electric Vehicle Concept on the 8th of September in Berlin, making a big step into becoming the world’s largest electric cars manufacturer by 2018.
