After we announced the rumors about an Vw Golf CC, Auto Express magazine announced that VW could reveal in 2012 a new Golf 6 Cabriolet based on the Golf 6. Most probably the new Golf Cabrio will compete against Ford Focus CC and Peuget 308 CC.

The engine lineup should mirror that of the hatch, with four new petrol units ranging from 80hp (60kW) to 160hp (118kW), and two diesels developing 110hp (81kW) and 140hp (103kW) respectively. A 240hp (179kW) GTI model should also be available.
