Volkswagen has recently announced the launch of the new Golf 7 GTD in Italy, where the model will become available to its future customers from 31,500 euros.
The brand new Volkswagen Golf GTD has been already unveiled earlier this year and in these few months, the model has been launched in most markets across the Old Continent. Volkswagen says that the new generation of the Golf GTD is now available for order in Italy too, where its future customers will have to pay at least 31,500 euros, before being able to drive their new rides home. The model is actually more expensive than the new Golf GTI, but this is the price to pay if you want to have hot-hatch power with diesel fuel consumption.
The 2014 Volkswagen Golf GTD is powered by the 2.0 liter TDI turbo diesel engine, which is producing a total output of 182 HP and it has a peak torque of 380 Nm. The same engine is also being used on the diesel version of the new Skoda Octavia RS. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint in the VW Golf GTD takes 7.5 seconds and top speed stands at 142 mph. With the manual version, the model will return 67.3 mpg UK and with the DSG 62.8 mpg.
