The German based automaker Volkswagen is planning to launch a CC version of the new Golf generation in 2015.
The new Volkswagen Golf CC will be a smaller version of the Passat CC and its design will be inspired from the one used by the model mentioned above, but its styling will definitely say “I’m a Golf”. The Golf CC is expected to be positioned at a more affordable price compared to the one of the Mercedes-Benz CLA. The new Golf CC will also be a direct rival for the BMW 1-Series GT and for the Audi A3 sport sedan.
The MQB platform will most likely be used on the new Volkswagen Golf CC and this will allow the model to get a roomier interior and an accommodating boot. As for the engine options, they are expected to include the 120 HP (88 kW) 1.4 liter unit and the larger 2.0 liter TDI diesel, with its 150 HP (110 kW). A GTI version might also make its way onto the model with the 2.0 liter TFSI engine under its hood, which is good for 220 HP (164 kW) and 350 Nm of torque (258 lb-ft). More details on the Golf CC will be announced close to the model’s debut.
