The German based automaker Volkswagen is planning to introduce the new Golf R Evo Concept to the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, which will open its gates this year.
The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet but according to the guys at Auto Express, the new Volkswagen Golf R Evo Concept will be making its public debut during the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. The model in question will be a lightweight vehicle, which will receive features like the carbon fiber body panels or the carbon fiber roof, and it’s also believed to get a roll cage, which will replace the rear seats, and some lightweight wheels, amongst others.
As far as the engine goes, the Volkswagen Golf R Evo Concept is believed to pack a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged unit, which should produce more than 300 HP (221 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint is expected to be made in less than 4.9 seconds, in the one-off German vehicle. A production version of the model in question might make its way onto the market. Additional details on the Volkswagen Golf R Evo Concept remain unknown for the moment.
