While the Dieselgate scandal rages on, Volkswagen keeps at it. Here we have the new Touareg Executive Edition that brings exclusive features and even a bespoke Malbec Red exterior shade.
The Volkswagen Touareg has started to show its age – especially since VW managers were committed to cheating everyone instead of looking forward on how to improve their vehicles. So, here comes the new Executive Edition to try and spice up things a little bit in Europe. It has already been billed as an “extraordinary limited edition model,” as the Touareg Executive can be configured with a unique Malbec Red exterior which is actually an homage to the Malbec grape which is used in red wine. The large SUV also comes with tinted windows, smoked rear taillights, and 20-inch Mallory alloys sporting a black finish.
The custom choices are also found inside the cabin, where the designers opted for black Nappa leather seats with diamond quilted inserts and Tobacco brown contrast stitching. Owners will also get an ambient lighting system, heated / ventilated front seats, premium wood trim, and illuminated door sill plates reading “Executive Edition”. At home in Germany the new Touareg special edition can be had with two versions of the 3.0-liter TDI V6 engine. The base unit gives up 204 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque, with the more powerful packing 262 hp and 427 lb-ft of torque. Both have been linked to a standard 4Motion all-wheel drive system and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. As far as prices are concerned, the entry-level kicks off at €64,925, with the second version going from €68,550.
