The German based automaker Volkswagen is planning to introduce a Polo R hot hatch in the nearby future, which will be getting an impressive 250 HP and 4MOTION all-wheel drive system.
Audi is already developing an S1, with all-wheel drive, which will be making its public debut in March, during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, and now Volkswagen is planning to introduce a hotter version of the Polo, the Polo R, in the nearby future. According to the guys at Autocar, the model in question is already being tested in extreme weather conditions, in Northern Europe, and chances are that the hot hatch will be making its public debut during the same Swiss Automotive event, in a couple of months.
Our source is saying that the upcoming Volkswagen Polo R will be powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which will produce an impressive 250 HP. The unit will be mated to a six-speed DSG automatic transmission, which will send the power to the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration should be made in less than 6 seconds and top speed should stand at just over 250 km/h (155 mph). More details on the upcoming hot hatch are limited for the moment.
