The German based automaker Volkswagen is still playing on the crossover segment as the company will be pulling the wraps off a brand new model sometimes next month, at the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), in Detroit. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet, but according to a recent report, published by Reuters, the model in question will actually be the five-passenger version of the seven-seat crossover, which will be produced in the Chattanooga plant, in Tennessee.

Our source is also stating that the new Volkswagen crossover, which will be debuting at the Detroit automotive event next month, will be coming in a concept form, as the final production version will be approved by 2016-2017. The vehicle will be aimed towards the United States, where only two SUVs are being offered at this time, the Tiguan and the Touareg, and it will be filing the gaps in the company’s lineup. The one-off model will be unveiled on January 12-13, at the Detroit Motor Show. More details on it are limited at this time.
