Volkswagen has ended the production of the Scirocco R and the regular vehicle will receive a facelift which will make its public debut during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, in March.
The Volkswagen Scirocco R has recently left the production line after the German based automaker has pulled the plug on it. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet, but according to a recent report, published by the guys at Car and Driver, the model in question is not being produced anymore because the carmaker is not making the EA113 turbocharged engine.
The facelifted version of the Scirocco is said, according to the same source, to make its public debut next year in March, during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, and the Scirocco R will definitely return and it’s expected to get the EA888 engine under its hood, which is producing a total output of 300 HP (221 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. The VW Scirocco facelift will get a modified front fascia, some minor interior tweaks and engine upgrades. Additional details on the model in question are currently limited and will probably be announced during the Swiss automotive event, next year.
