According to TDI Club forum, Volkswagen has issued a stop-sale on all 2009-2012 Jetta, Jetta Sportwagen and Golf TDI vehicles equipped with the company’s 2.0-liter TDI turbo-diesel.
Some 7,335 Audi A3 TDI hatchbacks with the same build dates are to be recalled.
Although recall might affect just the cars sold in the United States, nothing has been officially announced yet. The defect could cause a leak and possibly a fire. The document states that the automaker is currently working with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to establish a recall.
The automaker said that it is not aware of any accidents or injuries caused by this issue and in order to prevent this incident from occurring, customers will be sent notification letters beginning in November, requesting them to contact an authorized Volkswagen dealership for inspection and repair.
Most probably, the automaker will replace the fuel injection if necessary and on all vehicles with 2.0L TDI Clean Diesel engine vibration dampers will be installed.
