The German based automaker Volkswagen is planning to introduce a facelifted version of the Scirocco in 2014 and a new generation of the model sometimes in 2017.
The current third generation of the Volkswagen Scirocco is getting ready to receive a facelift sometimes next year. The modifications which will be applied to the model will be maintained to its front fascia and rear end and it should bring the Scirocco closer in terms of design to new cars in the company’s lineup. The modifications will probably include some minor changes in the cabin and probably a revised engine lineup, but no official details are being known for the moment.
As far as the new generation of the Volkswagen Scirocco goes, this is expected to make its way onto the market sometimes in 2017. The fourth generation of the Scirocco will still be based on the Golf and it will remain a four-seater with a large tailgate and a variable luggage compartment. More powerful versions of the engines are expected to be adopted by this model, including the 2.0 TSI with 230 HP, the 125 HP 1.4 TSI or the 1.8L unit with 180 HP replacing the 160 HP 1.4 TSI. Diesel units will include the 2.0L with 150 HP and the 2.0L with 184 HP. The Scirocco R will get at least 300 HP.
