VW’s Design Vision GTI Has 503 Horsepower image

VW has created a special hatchback with more than 500 horsepower and a V6 under its hood, dubbed Design Vision GTI.

The jaw-dropping vehicle was created for a special GTI-themed party, which will take place this weekend in the Austrian town of Reifnitz. The event is expected to attract 150,000 fans of the famous hot-hatch. While the standard GTI stops at 230 horsepower, VW wanted to prove that it can do much more with the 503-horsepower Design Vision, only 59 horsepower less compared with the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4. VW replaced the turbocharged 2.-liter 4-cylinder of the GTI with a twin-turbo and direct-injected 3.0-liter V-6, coupled to an all-wheel-drive system and a DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The automaker made public only the sketches of the Design Vision GTI and it looks like one hell of a car with those huge air intakes, vents and outlets. The model also features carbon-ceramic brakes wrapped in oversized 20-inch alloy wheels and a giant diffuser with four exhaust outlets.

There are slight chances for this amazing vehicle to be built in a limited run, as its price will probably match that of the Lamborghini Gallardo and the Audi R8.
