Sebastien Loeb won the Finland Rally for the third time in his career and the achievement has put him equal with Finnish rallying legend Juha Kankkunen.
The Citroen driver managed to win the Finland Rally for the third time in his career, troche totaling six wins in the first eight stages of the WRC season. Sebastien Loeb has ended the race 6 seconds in front of M. Hirvonen and 35 seconds in front of J. Latvala, who was followed by P. Solberg and M. Ostberg. The last stage, known as the Power Stage, has brought extra points for the first three places in the general top.
“For sure it’s very satisfying to win in Finland. I didn’t come here especially to win, I came for points because it’s very difficult to beat the Finnish drivers. It was a great fight with Mikko, a one-two for Citroen and great for the championship”, said Sebastien Loeb at the end of the race.
The next stage of the World Rally Championship will take place between 24 and 26 of August in Germany where Sebastien Loeb is hoping to win his seventh race this season, after already having 73 victories in the world championship.
