The seven times world champion Sebastien Loeb is leading in the Spain rally after the first three stages of the competition have ended, during which Sebastien Ogier and Mikko Hirvonen lost precious time because of the dense dust.
Even if the driver who is leaving first in a special stage isn’t in an advantage because road conditions, the situation was different in the Spain’s gravel because of the dense dust which the French driver and others left behind, which affected everyone else.
The Citroen driver didn’t have a problem with the dust because he left first but Sebastien Ogier and Mikko Hirvonen each lost over 15 seconds because of low visibility, but the situation came back to normal on the next two stages and Ogier finished on the first place.
Even if Ogier managed to catch up on Loeb during the Cataluña Rally, the Frenchman keeps his first place and has an advantage of a few seconds over Jari Matti Latvala, where Ogier and Hirvonen are being placed on the third and fourth position.
The fifth place is being “occupied” by Dani Sordo and his Mini who also had some serious problems with the dust, but not so serious as Ken Block and Kimi Raikkonen who abandoned the “fight”.
