24 Hours of Le Mans: Nissan DeltaWing retires after crash image

The Nissan Team has retired from the 24 Hours of Le Mans after the DeltaWing has been pushed into the wall by a Toyota 03 race car.

Bad news for Nissan fans after the DeltaWing had to retire from the 24 Hours of Le Mans because of a crash. The famous race driver, Lucas Luhr, said he was sorry because the event had to end for the DeltaWing this way, but the team did the best.

“Sorry that it ended that way, but it was a good effort”, said Lucas Luhr, right after the Nissan DeltaWing was retired from the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The Nissan DeltaWing has crashed earlier today into the wall after it was pushed by a Toyota 03 race car, at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. As a reminder, the Nissan DeltaWing is powered by a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine, with Direct Injection Gasoline – Turbocharged (DIG), which is producing 300 horsepower. The race car weighs just 590 kg with a full tank.
