The South Korean based automaker Hyundai has recently introduced a new sub-brand, called the “N”, which will launch a series of high performance road cars.
Hyundai will soon launch a series of high performance road cars under the N sub-brand name. The announcement has been made by the company which has chosen the name in reference to its Korean base, in Namyan. According to the car manufacturer, the new Hyundai brand will be based in Alzenau, near Frankfurt, which is also the headquarters of the company’s WRC team.
“This is the start of a new chapter in Hyundai’s history, one that we expect to have a positive impact on our brand around the globe”, said Gyoo-Heon Choi, the Hyundai Motorsport president, who has spoken at a media event in Frankfurt.
The first vehicle to roll out the production line will be the so-called 2014 WRC, which will be based on the i20. The model in question will start competing in the Monte Carlo rally next month. It’s not known for the moment whether the new Hyundai N sub-brand vehicles will be completely new ones or if the company will decide to modify its existing models.
