A Mercedes-AMG CLA45 has been recently destroyed by a fire which started out of nowhere while the driver was taking his daughters to school in the elegant ride.
In case you thought that small and slightly powerful vehicles which have more than two doors are excluded from the spontaneous combustion “malady” from which almost all supercars seem to be suffering, think again, because the owner of a CLA45 AMG Mercedes-Benz has found out the hard way that all isn’t good with his ride.
According to the guys from the owner of the small performance four-door coupe has been taking his daughters to school in the model when it apparently decided to go up in flames. As you can see from the image posted above, the flames are concentrated into the engine compartment which might indicate a short circuit. Mercedes-Benz will probably clarify the situation soon.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG is packing a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine under its hood, the same one found on the A45 AMG and on the GLA45 AMG too. The unit is producing 360 HP (265 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint made in 4.6 seconds.
