Mitsubishi Motors Company has recently announced that the new MINICAB-MiEV minicar-class commercial electric vehicle will be launched in Japan on December 8, 2011.
According to the Japanese based automaker, the new MINICAB-MiEV will be the second product in the next generation and the new variant of the minivan range has been designed in order to optimize technologies, offering better environmental performance, reliability, payload capability, diveability and superior operating economy. Mitsubishi says that the MINICAB-MiEV (Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle) will be available on the local auto market in two options for the drive battery so that its future owners will get what’s best for their needs.
The new MINICAB-MiE with the CD 10.5 kWh battery version is offering a range of 100 km on a single charge, while the CD 16.0 kWh version comes with a total range of 150 km. According to the car manufacturer, Mitsubishi is planning to sell 4.000 units of the new MINICAB-MiEV by March next year. The Japanese automaker has set prices at an accessible level and with the application of the Japanese Trade and Industry’s eco-car subsidy and the Ministry of Economy, the final cost for the consumer has been reduced to 22.252 USD for the CD 10.5 while the CD 16.0 has been priced at 25.983 USD.
