The SsangYong XAV-Adventure Concept has been shown at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The new model is offering us a glimpse into the future and it is currently previewing the next generation of the Korando. The vehicle has a boxy shape and compact dimensions, standing in at 4.19 meters in length, 1.88 meters in height and 1.65 meters in width.
“XAV-Adventure is the latest compact SUV concept from SsangYong. It offers a glimpse into the future, and illustrates how the current Korando crossover could be reinterpreted as the fourth iteration of this long-lived and highly successful vehicle brand”, says the automaker in its press release.
The vehicle shown in Frankfurt was in two versions, both of them taking their power from a hybrid powertrain. However, one of them had a petrol unit under its hood and the other one a diesel unit. Both internal combustion engines are being backed up by two electric motors mounted on the rear axle and one mounted on the front, which is serving as a generator.
SsangYong says that this system is called the 3S-CUBE and it also has the special sensing device which is working together with a smart motion control system, “stereo vision” and electric air suspension, adjusting the suspension automatically according to the road conditions. If you were hoping to see how the interior design looks like, you will be disappointed because the car manufacturer hasn’t released any images with it at this point. However, that doesn’t mean that you cannot check it out in the small photo gallery posted below.
