The French based automaker Renault has recently announced that the future Clio generation, in the TCe version, will come with 899cc and 90 horsepower.
The fourth generation of the Renault Clio is getting ready for its future customers and the model will be officially presented to the public at the 2012 Paris Motor Show in autumn. According to the car manufacturer, downsizing is the key and the future generation of the Clio, in the TCe version, which is the smallest engine in the lineup, will be downsized to 899 cubic centimeters, replacing the current 1.2 TCe. Renault says that the 899 cc engine will develop a total output of 90 horsepower, and even if this is less than the 1.2 TCe’s 100 HP, the new unit will be 25 percent more fuel efficient.
Prices of the new Renault Clio generation are expected to be the same as the current one because the small model will be made on the same platform, offering an improved maneuverability, less kilograms, improved fuel efficiency and low CO2 emissions. The new Clio will only be offered in a five door version and the three-door will become “history”, even on the RS. After making its world debut at the Paris Motor Show in autumn, 2012, the new Clio will hit the showrooms in November.
