After the British sports car manufacturer has presented its G40 model, priced at £29.950, Ginetta decided it’s time to get back to the drawing board and come up with a new sports car that will be twice as expensive compared to their G40.
According to the British automaker, the new model will be powered by a 3.7 liter delivering a total output of 310 BHP, giving the 1.100 kg sports car a 0 to 60 sprint time of around 4 seconds and a top speed of 165 mph.
“A £68.000, full carbon fiber bodied, 3.7 liter sports car, weighing less than 1.100 kg and delivering 310 BHP at the wheels with a top speed of 165 mph and a 0-60 mph time in around four seconds”, as a short Ginetta statement says.
We have no more details about the new sports car but judging from the performance figures the model would be in the Porsche Boxter zone.
The G40R takes its power form a tuned 2.0 liter Ford Duratec engine which is delivering 175 BHP at 6.700 rpm and 140 lb-ft of torque at 5.000 rpm in standard form, but it can be boosted up to 280 BHP, while weighing just 840 kg with half a tank of fuel.
