Jaguar has released the first official image with the new XE-S which is showing the front fascia of the model in question.
The development of the Jaguar XE is taking another step forward with the partial reveal of the XE-S in the image posted above. We can notice the “S” badge on the front grille which means that the engine found under its hood is probably the one from the F-Type S, the 3.0 liter V6 supercharged, which is rated at 340 HP (250 kW) in the F-Type Roadster and at 380 HP (279 kW) in the Coupe.
If this isn’t too impressive for you, then you should know that the British based automaker is also planning a top of the line version of the XE, which will probably be called the XER-S, coming in with the same engine from the F-Type R Coupe, the 5.0 liter V8 supercharged, rated at 550 HP. This version of the XE will hit 300 km/h (186 mph) and it will become a rival for the BMW M3, for the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and for the Audi RS4. More details on the Jaguar XE will be announced on the 8th of September, when the model will be unveiled.
