Justin Bieber Receives Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport from Birdman
Music mogul Birdman gifts Canadian pop star Justin Bieber a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport, adding the 1,001PS hypercar to Bieber’s already high-profile collection in early 2014.
Justin Bieber has become one of the youngest owners of a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport after receiving the car as a gift from US music executive Birdman. The handover took place in early April 2014, with the Canadian singer sharing his new acquisition on social media.
The Veyron Grand Sport, introduced in 2009, is the open-top derivative of Bugatti’s original 16.4 Veyron. Its 8.0-litre W16 engine, fitted with four turbochargers, produces 1,001PS (736kW) and delivers power to all four wheels via a dual-clutch seven-speed gearbox. With a top speed above 250mph and a price tag exceeding £1 million when new, the Grand Sport remains one of the world’s most exclusive and capable road cars.
Bieber’s collection already included a Ferrari F430, Ferrari 458 Italia, Ferrari 458 Spider and a Fisker Karma. The Veyron Grand Sport, however, stands out as the most valuable and powerful model in his fleet at the time. Birdman, who has previously displayed his own Veyron, chose to gift Bieber the car for reasons not made public. The vehicle pictured in Bieber’s posts closely matched the configuration of Birdman’s own Veyron, suggesting it may have come directly from the mogul’s collection.
The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport in context
Bugatti assembled all Veyron models at its Molsheim facility in Alsace, France. The Grand Sport’s removable roof section distinguishes it from the fixed-roof coupe, allowing for open-air driving at high speeds. The car’s engineering set a new benchmark for production car performance, with the Super Sport model later raising the bar further to 1,184hp and a higher top speed.
Bieber’s Veyron joins a select group of celebrity-owned hypercars, reflecting the car’s status as both an engineering milestone and a symbol of wealth. For Bugatti, high-profile owners like Bieber and Birdman have helped keep the Veyron in the public eye, even as production numbers remained strictly limited. The Grand Sport’s combination of rarity, performance and price ensured it remained a headline car years after launch.
