The first official image with the upcoming Mercedes-Benz G500 4×5 has been released by the car manufacturer as the model will be debuting at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
The 2015th edition of the Geneva Motor Show is promising to be hotter than ever as most carmakers are getting ready to introduce a lot of brand new models, in a world premiere. Mercedes-Benz makes no exception from this and besides the introduction of the brand new S-Class Pullman, the company will also pull the wraps off the G500 4×4. The model in question is the more practical version of the G63 AMG 6×6 and it has been caught on camera several times by now by our spy photographers.
This was initially believed to be offered in a G63 AMG variant but it seems that the carmaker has preferred to keep things simple and the model will be introduced in the G500 version. This pretty much means that it will be packing the 5.0 liter V8 engine under its hood instead of the 5.5 liter twin turbo V8 from its larger brother, the G63 AMG 6×6, and this should deliver approximately 380 HP and 390 lb-ft of torque. Power will be sent to the all-wheel drive system through the 7-speed automatic transmission. The Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4 will be hitting the production line right after its debut in Geneva and it will become more affordable than its 6×6 brother. More details on it are limited at this time and will be announced at the Swiss automotive event.
