Recall roundup: Lexus NX for faulty brakes image

The Lexus NX is the subject of a new recall which has been announced by the car manufacturer in the United States.

According to the company, there are a total of approximately 3, 000 units of the Lexus NX which are suffering from a braking condition that could lead to the loss of vehicle stability and increase the risk of a crash.

“The involved vehicles are equipped with an Anti-Lock Braking system (ABS), Traction Control System (TRAC), and Vehicle Stability Control System (VSC) which are controlled by the ABS actuator. There is a possibility that a component inside the actuator could be damaged during assembly and later not operate properly. Under some driving conditions, if the ABS is activated, this could cause a loss of vehicle stability, which can increase the risk of a crash”, says the carmaker in its press release.

The recall is affecting the 2015 Lexus NX 200t models and at this time, Toyota is unaware of any crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this condition. Owners of these vehicles will be notified by first class mail and the company’s dealers will be inspecting the ABS actuator and replace it with a new one, if necessary. The recall is expected to begin soon but an exact date for when this will be happening hasn’t been provided.
