Chevrolet has recently introduced the new Corvette generation to Japan, as the model has been recently unveiled in the Asian country, attracting quite a crowd.
The new generation of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray may have been already available for sale in the North American market and in some parts of Europe but now Japanese are also able to order the new sports car, as the model has been recently introduced to their country.
“We have just begun our fight. We offer attractive qualities that you can’t find in Japanese and European cars”, said Sumito Ishii, the General Motors managing director in Japan.
The new generation of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2014 Stingray, has been officially unveiled earlier this year, during the 2013 NAIAS, in Detroit. The model in question is being powered by a 6.2 liter LT1 V8 engine, which is generating 455 HP (339 kW) and it has 624 Nm (460 lb-ft) of torque. Chevy says that with the new performance exhaust system, the total output can go up to 460 HP (343 kW) and 634 Nm (465 lb-ft) of torque, which is translated into a 0 to 60 mph sprint made in less than 4 seconds and a 190 mph top speed.
