Swedish auto rag Sportbilen recently got a chance to check out the “world launch of the new Audi Q3 compact crossover.
With a 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbocharged engine cranking out 300 horsepower, quattro all-wheel drive, and a comfortable seating for four plus room for your gear, we’re looking foward to the Q3 RS.
While there’s really not much to this video, it does give us some idea of what we can expect Audi’s Q3 RS. The blue Q3 RS preproduction example featured in this video looks almost exactly the same as a stock Q3—it doesn’t even have visible “RS” markings.
A production model has been rumored for late 2012, but nothing is official as of yet.
Moreover, speaking at the launch of the Audi Q3 crossover in Switzerland, Quattro GmbH boss Stephan Reil told Inside Line that the RS badge will not be used on crossovers and SUV, due to their un-sporty high center of gravity. This also means there will not be an even more powerful version, or a Q5 RS for that matter.
